USAFRICOM and Botswana Defence Force kick off Exercise Southern Accord 2026

U.S. Africa Command, in partnership with the Botswana Defence Force, officially commenced Exercise Southern Accord 2026 in Gaborone, Botswana. The biennial exercise, running Aug. 10-15, 2026, brings together U.S. and Botswana military personnel to enhance regional security, foster mutual readiness, and increase the operational independence of African partner nations.

Defense-industry partners prepare a cruise missile for a live-fire demonstration at the Africa Multidomain Training and Experimentation Center in Tan-Tan, Morocco, Aug. 5, 2026.
